SANGUEM: The unexpected 100 per cent hike in entry fee to the Selaulim Dam by Goa Forest Development Corporation has surprised many visitors.
The visitors wondered the logic behind the unexpected hike in fees charged by the GFDC as there are no additional facilities offered by the corporation at the botanical garden.
Earlier, the GFDC used to charge an entry fee of Rs 20 and Rs 10 for adults and children respectively, the same has now been increased to Rs 40 and Rs 20 with effect from Wednesday. The botanical garden has remained the same, the rose garden has withered and the children play area also needs total revamp. The GFDC move to hike the entry fee has left visitors puzzled.
Incidentally, even visitors who do not wish to visit the botanical garden are compelled to pay the entry fee charged by the GFDC.
