PANJIM: Chandrashekar U Tuenkar, a draftsman in the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department, who was suspended in March 2023 for allegedly demanding bribes and harassing the public, has been exonerated of all charges except one by the Disciplinary Authority.
The Disciplinary Authority, in its order dated January 21, 2025, cleared Tuenkar of all charges except the one under Article II, for which a minor penalty of withholding his annual increment for two years and censure was imposed. He has also been warned to refrain from repeating such actions in
the future.
Following the decision, the High Court of Bombay at Goa disposed of the writ petition filed by Tuenkar, as the relief sought was no longer relevant. The TCP Department had suspended Tuenkar on March 14, 2023, after complaints of alleged extortion and harassment surfaced.
