PANJIM: Unfazed with the attack on the GoaMiles app staff at Dabolim airport counter, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Chairman Nilesh Cabral is determined to continue the service that comes as a major competition to the yellow-and-black taxi operators.
Cabral conveyed his decision to the aggrieved yellow - and - black taxi association as well as some local MLAs such as Alina Saldanha, Carlos Almeida and others during a meeting on Wednesday.
"We are only helping the passengers to download the GoaMiles app and make the first booking. We cannot stop them from booking cabs using our app. It is their choice and we are carrying out our service," Cabral told Herald after the meeting.
Making it clear that the app has come as a major competition to the existing taxi operators at the airport,  Cabral said their service is transparent.
He has however clarified to the association that the five spots identified at the airport are not to station vehicles under the app, but to pick and drop passengers.  "These spots are identified to pick and drop passengers.  Our vehicles are not stationed but on the move," he added.
