ALDONA: An angry and hurt father of Siddhi Naik, Sandeep spoke emotionally after hearing the CM’s remarks that the probe into his daughter’s death was being done on merit.
Speaking to Herald at his residence near Aldona he said, “Whatever he said is not true. They don't want to give justice to poor people, I'm telling you straight forward”.
“If they wanted to give justice to us, then they would’ve given it long back,” he said and added “someone killed her (his daughter) and threw her there. Even though they filed the case as a murder, they did not do any follow-up (investigation)”.
Naik alleged that the police registered the case as murder “to keep other people’s mouths shut.”
Recalling his conversation with the Police Sub-Inspector who was initially looking into the case, Naik said, “I asked him there are many CCTVs from Baga to Calangute. How come she wasn’t seen in any of the cameras (if she had just arrived on the beach belt on her own, as opposed to being dumped on the beach)”
Naik went on to add that if it was a rich people's case they would've been given justice by now. “They would've called them 100 times to the station to follow up with that. If we go there they ask so many questions like who's she? Who's that? All of Goa knows about this issue. People walked with candles in her support. Everyone knows about this. If it was not murder, then why did people come out?” asked the heartbroken father.
