PANJIM: The Department of Tribal Welfare, Directorate of Tribal Welfare has issued a notification that the Tribes Advisory Council of Goa has been reconstituted.
While Tribal Welfare Minister Govind Gaude is the chairman and the Tribal Welfare Secretary is the member secretary, the remaining members include the MLAs of Sanguem and Curchorem; six Zilla Panchayat members; the Chairman of the Goa State Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation Ltd and other citizens like Upasso Gaonkar from Quepem; Keshav Kerkar from Ponda; Velip Kankar from Margao; Vishwas Gaude from Madkai; and Namdev Fatarpekar from Tiswadi.
The Council has to give their advice on matters pertaining to the welfare and advancement of the ST’s in Goa, which may be referred to them by the Governor.
