PANJIM: Ahead of the 2022 Assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) new national executive committee includes some senior leaders from Goa. Union Minister and North Goa MP (Lok Sabha) Shripad Naik has retained his place among the 80 regular members comprising the top brass, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while ministers Vishwajit Rane and Mauvin Godinho have been appointed as special invitees.
The appointments finalised by BJP National President J P Nadda and also includes Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, Dy CMs Chandrakant Kavlekar and Manohar Ajgaonkar, ex-CM Laxmikant Parsekar, State BJP President Sadanand Tanavade and State general secretary (Organisation) Satish Dhond as permanent invitees/ex-officio members.
Godinho offered his first reaction on his appointment as special invitee stating, “I consider it as an honour to be on the party’s national executive committee. I am humbled and I think this is a reward for the hard work by my karyakartas.”
Rane took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the Centre on his appointment stating, “It is a great honour to be appointed as special
invitee of National Executive Committee. Grateful to Shri @narendramodi ji & Shri @JPNadda ji for giving me this opportunity to serve the nation under your leadership. My sincere gratitude to you for your continued guidance.”
In addition to 80 national executive members, the committee also has 50 special invitees and 179 permanent invitees which includes CMs, Dy CMs, Leaders of the Legislative Party in Assemblies and Councils, ex-CMs and ex-Dy CMs, National spokespersons, National morcha presidents, State prabharis/sah-prabharis, State presidents, State general secretaries (organization) and sanghatans.
