Valpoi: Valpoi Community Health Centre (CHC) dispatched a team to Morlem- Sattari to screen all contacts of positive patients in Morlem as contact tracing exercise.
In all 78 swab samples were collected and sent to the North Goa District Hospital for testing.
After a COVID-19 positive case was detected in the village when a health worker at UHC, Vasco tested positive. Later his family and close contacts also tested positive.
A CHC team headed by Dr Shyam Kankonkar, Dr Rahul Rane, Dr Varsha Kerkar, Aqueeb Shaikh, Sandesh Naik, Bhagyashree Gaonkar, Nikita Naik, Fondu Paryekar, Kamlakant Humane and Tukaram Bhat collected samples of all the contacts at Government School, Morlem and sent them for testing.
Morlem sarpanch Vidya Sawant said, “I thank Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and CHC Valpoi team for collecting samples of 78 villagers. Our village is still in lockdown mode and from the panchayat; we will be distributing free grocery items to the houses in the village”.
Earlier, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane tweeted that in order to stop the spread of the virus all the contacts of Morlem village will be traced and tested.
