PERNEM: Varkhand-Nagzar sarpanch Gauri Josalkar was ousted from her post after four panch members tabled and passed a no-confidence motion against her on Monday.
Deputy sarpanch Vasant Naik, panch members Kavita Kambli, Mayuri Tulaskar and Sabaji Parab who had tabled the motion were present for the meeting, while sarpanch Gauri Josalkar, panch members Devidas Chari and Rupesh Mavlanakar abstained.
Josalkar was the supporter of Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar and the no-confidence motion against her will possibly impact other panchayats in Pernem constituency. Interestingly, that the motion was tabled on the exact day when the panchayat completed one year of tenure.
