The accused had murdered his wife by stabbing her with a knife at Lovers Point in Nachinola on April 26, 2011. Sources said that the accused was forcing Sneha to stay with him at his native place in Virnoda against her wishes which led to an argument resulting in Sneha shifting to her mother’s house at Moira.
On April 26, 2011, Ganapat picked up Sneha from her workplace from Panjim and convinced her that he would drop her at her mother’s house. On reaching Nachinola at around 9.15 pm, he stabbed her with a knife which resulted in her instant death.
He went to his house at Virnoda, met his family members and confessed to killing Sneha. They later took him to Pernem police station and he was booked under Section 302 of IPC.
