Deepak incidentally had earlier served as a sarpanch of the village from 2012 to 2017 and was tipped off to be the sarpanch again after the elections but MLA Clafasio Dias intervened and got Inacio Tereza elected as the Sarpanch. What is worth noting is the fact that Inacio now claims that the MLA was displeased with him and got him ousted.
