MAPUSA: As the Aam Aadmi Party wrapped up its campaign for the Assembly elections on Saturday, AAP Goa Convenor and Mapusa candidate Rahul Mhambre appealed to Goans to support good governance by voting for AAP.

Mhambre said that the AAP, which has changed Delhi with its honest leadership and development vision, now stands as an alternative to the BJP in the State. Due to Delhi’s excellent development model and Arvind Kejriwal’s promises, the confidence of people of Goa has increased several folds.

The AAP conducted its first campaign against the inflated electricity bills after which Power Minister Nilesh Cabral and his Delhi counterpart Satyendar Jain engaged in a high-voltage discussion about the AAP's promise of free electricity for upto 300 units. As a result Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant was forced to announce free water supply for Goans up to 16,000 litres water per household per month and Goa became first State in country to give free water to people only because of pressure built by the AAP.

Thereafter, AAP launched the Rojgar Yatra, to address the issue of unemployment in the State, and the youth responded with great enthusiasm. While 75 per cent of people in Goa registered for the electricity scheme, 30 per cent applied for the unemployment scheme.

Mhambre said, “To reach out to Goans with party’s guarantees we held several ‘Parivartan Yatras’ across the State. AAP has given several guarantees to the State, these include free electricity up to 300 units per month, free pilgrimage, employment guarantee, guarantees for women, ST community and taxi operators, resumption of mining and land rights within six months and the first corruption free government in the State.”

He appealed to Goans and said, “Don’t let the votes get divided this time; trust us and give a chance to AAP. When the AAP government is formed every family will get a clear benefit of Rs 10 lakh in five years. AAP has already delivered on its promises in Delhi, and AAP will do so here as well. AAP has provided government schools and hospitals in Delhi, and we will deliver on our promises here too.”
