Pednekar named acting Siolim Cong block president
Zila Pednekar has been appointed as acting President of Siolim Block Congress. Pednekar declared his open support to Goa Forward Candidate Vinod Palyekar and joined Goa Forward campaign in presence of Goa Forward President Prabhakar Timble, General Secretary Mohandas Lolienkar, Spokesperson Durgadas Kamat and Milton Marquis. Pednekar said that he joined and supports Goa Forward campaign with only one aim which is to defeat the sitting Minister Dayanand Mandrekar. Congress, which has not fielded any candidate in Siolim, is supporting Goa Forward. Pednekar appealed that all the secular forces cutting across party lines should unite in Siolim. Zila further said that Independent Candidates in Siolim are planted by Dayanand Mandrekar to divide the secular votes. He appealed to the voters to elect Goa Forward candidate with a thumping margin of 5000 + lead.
BJP has fooled people: Sr Rane
The opposition leader, Pratapsingh Rane, stated that BJP did not give proper justice to mining workers but only supported mine owners. Rane was speaking at a press conference in Bicholim. Rane added that BJP did not fulfill any of the promises mentioned in their manifesto and also did not provide jobs to the unemployed youths as promised earlier. "BJP has failed on every front and now it is time to weed out BJP by voting for Congress," Rane stated. He said that BJP for the last five years has fooled people under the pretext of different schemes. He added that mining problem was aggravated only during BJP’s rule.
