Alaska Airlines Flight Faces Emergency as Door Blows Open Mid-Air

Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 encountered a mid-air emergency today as one of its doors blew open just minutes after departing. The incident, which occurred on a Boeing 737-9 MAX en route from Portland to Ontario, CA (California), startled passengers and led to action from the flight crew.

Videos captured by passengers depicted a startling scene as the mid-cabin exit door completely detached from the aircraft mid-flight.

In response to the alarming situation, Alaska Airlines issued a statement on X, confirming the incident: "AS1282 from Portland to Ontario, CA, experienced an incident this evening soon after departure. The aircraft landed safely back at Portland International Airport with 171 guests and 6 crew members. We are investigating what happened and will share more as it becomes available."

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) launched an investigation into the event involving Alaska Airlines Flight 1282. Their post on X stated they are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation into this concerning mid-air occurrence.
