In the aftermath of the tragic head-on collision at Siridao, 18-year-old Omkar Aroskar from Pilar has been arrested by Agassaim Police. The incident, which unfolded on Tuesday morning, resulted in the devastating loss of Sanjana Sawant's life and inflicted serious injuries upon her sister, Akshata, a Class XII commerce student residing in Pilar.
The fatal collision occurred on the old Siridao bridge while Akshata and Sanjana were en route to school. Sanjana, who was riding the two-wheeler, was thrown off during the impact, sustaining severe head injuries that ultimately proved fatal.
Akshata, seated behind Sanjana, also suffered injuries in the collision. Omkar Aroskar, the motorcycle rider involved in the incident and a fellow Class XII Arts student from the same school, sustained injuries while on his way from Pilar to Siridao to pick up a friend. The arrest by Agassaim Police marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into this tragic incident.
