Panjim: In a recent statement, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant affirmed that the issues facing shack owners in the state would be addressed within two days. He also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts by the environment and tourism ministries to swiftly resolve the ongoing matters.
Dr. Sawant's announcement follows concerns raised by shack owners regarding delayed allotments and difficulties related to the state's revised Shack Policy for the years 2023-26. The situation had prompted several shack owners, along with Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, to march to the Secretariat in Porvorim to highlight their grievances.
By assuring a speedy resolution within two days, the Chief Minister aims to alleviate the uncertainties that have arisen due to the policy changes. Dr. Sawant also underscored the need for cooperation between the environment and tourism ministries to effectively address the issues in question.
