In a shocking incident on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, a family of four hailing from Kerala, India, was discovered dead inside their residence in San Mateo, California. The victims were identified as 42-year-old Anand Sujith Henry, his wife 40-year-old Alice Priyanka, and their 4-year-old twin children, Noah and Neithan.
San Mateo police revealed that two members of the family succumbed to gunshot wounds, while the cause of death for the other two is yet to be determined. Authorities are currently investigating the case as a potential murder-suicide, although alternative scenarios have not been ruled out.
Initial suspicions from family members suggested carbon monoxide poisoning from household appliances, as the family had previously experienced headaches and nausea. However, police found no evidence of gas leakage or malfunctioning appliances during their investigation.
Anand and Alice, both IT professionals, had been residing in the United States for the past nine years. Anand worked as a software engineer, while Alice held a senior analyst position. The couple, well-liked by neighbours and colleagues, relocated to San Mateo County from New Jersey two years ago.
Despite the ongoing investigation, the motive behind the deaths remains unclear. Autopsy results and forensic analyses are awaited to provide further insight into this tragic incident.
