Tragedy struck on Thursday morning at Puikhadi, an outskirts location on the Kolhapur-Radha Nagari Road, when a high-speed private sleeper coach bus, en route from Panaji (Goa) to Mumbai, overturned, claiming the lives of three family members. The victims were identified as 43-year-old Nilu Gautam, 17-year-old Riddhima Gautam, and 13-year-old Sarthak Gautam, all residents of Manjri-Budruk in Pune district.
The ill-fated bus, which left from Panjim with 25 passengers around 8 pm on Wednesday bound for Mumbai, met with the fatal accident on a treacherous curve at Radhanagari Road Puikhadi in Kolhapur city.
In addition to the tragic fatalities, four passengers who were trapped under the overturned bus were successfully rescued, albeit with injuries. Immediate response from the local Kolhapur fire brigade ensured prompt rescue operations at the site of the accident. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident to ascertain the cause of this devastating incident.
