Story: After marriage, Janisa (Joylita) and her husband, Sydney (Anil), decide to live her parents. What will be the consequence?
The story revolves around two families, namely Carlos (Roseferns) and his two sons, Sydney and Clive (Filipe) and Martin (Mario Menezes), his spouse, Rosy (Rosy Alvares), and their only daughter, Janisa.
After relationships with Reggie (Jr Reagan) and Clive, Janisa finally marries advocate Carlos’s son, Sydney, who is also a lawyer. On their first wedding anniversary, Janisa and her husband decide to move in with her parents.
Trouble sets in when Janisa feels that Sydney is ignoring her and on the sly, he is having an affair with her mother. She makes up her mind to return to her husband’s house.
After some time, Janisa is willing to divorce her husband and return to Clive. But meanwhile, Clive becomes a priest.
What is Sydney’s relationship with his mother-in-law? What’s the reason behind the misunderstanding between husband and wife? What is the truth? How do things fall in place?
Samuel Carvalho’s tiatr ‘Dogui Bodmas’ is a family melodrama, focusing on ungratefulness of children towards their sacrificing guardians. There are twists and turns in the drama, which make the viewing interesting.
Mario Menezes, Rosy and Roseferns have played the role of guardians to perfection. They have been ably assisted by Anil and Filipe as siblings and Joylita. Samuel Carvalho’s brief entries and dialogues are crisp.
In the comic acts, Humbert, Antonette de Maina, Sally, Nato, Tony de Ribandar and Stanford come together for some laughter pills. But the thought of tuitions on the lap of a teacher is uncalled for.
In the category of songs, Antonette de Maina and Roma come in for the opening song, followed by solos by Jr Reagan, Roma, Joylita and Tony de Ribandar. There are other songs by Tony and Jr Reagan, Anil and Olga. Songs by Rosy and Jr Reagan on ‘Fottkiro Agent’ and Rosy, Antonette de Maina and Roma on ‘Tiatr’ are thought–provoking. Political solos by Saby de Divar and Olga, besides a song by Joylita, Saby de Divar, Nato and Sally receive encores. Theo and Nolvert along with other band members have provided good live music.
