Review:
After a bitter experience and facing condemnation in one parish, Fr Mark moves to a different parish. There he receives a letter from a prisoner, who wishes to share his life story with him, with the hope that the priest will pen a book on it.
One fine day, Fr Mark decides to visit the prisoner and listens to his story. His story is linked to various other stories and events in life.
After patient hearing, will Fr Mark decide to pen a book? What were the intentions of the prisoner? Was he keen in scripting his life story or was it just a gimmick to trap the priest?
Konkani film ‘Connection’ has various stories to relate, of different people in different situations of life. It carries a good dose of suspense, twists and turns. But the manner in which it has been linked to the seven Stations of the Cross deserves a appreciation.
The final message with the release of the book, ‘Connection’, to always stay connected with God, cannot be ignored. The value of a priest, his trials and tribulations, have been highlighted throughout the film.
In the lead role, Prince Jacob has doled out a fine performance as a priest who faces defeat and humiliation. He has been ably supported by Casiano and Siddarth as garage workers. In his humble acts, Benzer shines as the good Samaritan. Anirudh, Benhur, Sobita, Dencilla, Donald, Chetana, Chitra, Damodar and Simon have done justice to their respective roles. Anay Kamat stands tall and in command as a police inspector.
John D’Silva and Mita come together for some lighter moments and entertain.
With regard to DOP and editing, Patson Barbosa has done a fine job and he has been ably assisted by Velroy Fernandes with sound design.
