PANJIM: Fourth seeds Advait Balakrishnan and Vansh Khedkar stormed into the boys U-17 doubles final of the State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025 with a commanding 21-18, 21-8 win over Harsh Mulik and Sudhanva Udupa, at the Indoor Stadium, Campal. They will face Aarush Pawaskar and Owais Tahasildar, who prevailed in a gripping three-setter against Karthikeyan N and Shane D’Souza 21-19, 18-21, 21-18.
The State Ranking event is organised by Panjim Badminton Club and Panaji Ganeshotsav Samiti in collaboration with the North Goa District Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, under the aegis of the Goa Badminton Association.
In the boys U-15 doubles, third seeds Arnav Saraf and Sparsh Kolwalkar ousted Linesh Virnodkar and Mohammed Umar Shaikh 21-11, 21-18, while Atharv Sadaye and Shaan Cherkala Kunjutty rallied past second seeds Aanav Kolvalkar and Prajesh Gawas 15-21, 21-13, 21-19.
In the girls U-15 doubles, Avni Khyalia and Palak Ramnathkar eased past Niharika Baljit and Sambhavi Bhardwaj 21-15, 21-13. Aaryaa Metry and Anaya Kamat stunned second seeds Deepun S and Komal Kothari 21-11, 21-3.
Mixed doubles U-15 also produced upsets, as Arnav and Niharika Parwar defeated Linesh and Anaya 21-10, 16-21, 21-17, while Sparsh and Aaryaa shocked second seeds Ateendra Gaonkar and Palak 15-21, 21-4, 21-14.
In the girls U-17 doubles, Dimple Revankar and Ritika Chelluri brushed aside Aakanksha Rana and Gauravi Bodekar 21-4, 21-6 to book their final berth. Meanwhile, the U17 mixed doubles final will see Vansh Khedkar and Sufiya Shaikh, who crushed second seeds Arnav Ramnathkar and Nidhi Nair 21-5, 21-5, face Advait Balakrishnan and Ritika Chelluri after their 21-10, 21-18 win over Shane D’Souza and Saanvi Audi.
