India’s one of the most dependable batters in whites, Cheteshwar Pujara, has retired from all forms of Indian cricket. At 37, Pujara bows out after a 13-year international career defined by grit, patience, and match-winning knocks in the longest format.

Cheteshwar Pujara Test Stats

Pujara played 103 Tests, amassing 7,195 runs with 19 centuries, including memorable hundreds against Australia and England. His defining moment came in the 2018–19 series in Australia, where his 521 runs helped India clinch their first-ever Test series win Down Under.

Reflecting on his journey, Pujara wrote on social media, “As a little boy from Rajkot, I dreamt of representing India. This game has given me so much — opportunities, experiences, and above all, the honour of wearing the Indian jersey. With gratitude, I retire from all forms of Indian cricket.”

Though sidelined from the Indian team since June 2023, Pujara continued playing for Saurashtra and county cricket with Sussex. Revered as a red-ball specialist, he leaves behind a legacy built on resilience and old-fashioned Test match batting.
