RAIA: The athletic summer coaching camp along with handball, kho-kho and sepak takrrow games commenced at Karai ground, Shiroda, on Tuesday.
The 15 days camp will conclude on April 20. Altogether, 142 students from Symboises High school, Bramhadurga High School and Kamalabai Hede High school are participating. There are 47 athletes participating in athletics coaching camp.
Kapil Bhandari, P E teacher of Shiroda Higher Secondary School and Akash Telgu, PE teacher, Symboises High School are conducting the training. There are 27 players participating in sepak takrrow and Dilkhush Raikar, PE teacher is training. There are 31 players participating in kho-Kho game under the guidance of Nandesh Velip, Assistant PE officer. While 36 players are participating in handball coaching camp under Royd Fernandes, NIS handball coach.
The guest for inaugural function were Sharendra Naik, secretary, Goa Athletics Association and Conney Fernandes, secretary, Goa Handball Association. Also present were coaches and PE teachers.
In his address, Sharendra said, “Try to be healthy and good citizen of our country through sports and education.” Conney also gave thought provoking address.
