RAIA: Betalbatim SC pipped Cuncolim Union 2-1 to storm into the quarter-finals of 44th Gold Silver football tournament played at Rosary Church ground, Navelim, on Friday.
Betalbatim SC netted the first goal of the match through Prosen Mondal in the 7th minute with a placement shot. Soon, Daulat Dessai of Cuncolim Union missed the target by whiskers.
Betalbatim SC further inflated the lead through Selroy Fernandes in the 21st minute. A tricky move by Jollyton Ferny of Cuncolin Union after entering the Betalbatim SC defender shot from a close range to score, 1-2, in the 46th minute.
