India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has landed in legal trouble after his return from England, where a knee injury forced him to miss the final two Tests of the ongoing series. Reddy is now at the center of a legal dispute with his former management agency, Square The One, which has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court demanding ₹5 crore in unpaid dues.
The petition, filed under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, alleges that Reddy violated the terms of their management agreement by abruptly ending his four-year association during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25. He reportedly switched to a new manager mid-series, a move that Square The One claims left several payments pending despite the player’s commercial success.
The agency asserts that it played a key role in negotiating multiple brand endorsements and business deals for Reddy since 2021, from which he gained financially. Despite this, the firm alleges, Reddy failed to clear the agreed-upon dues after the partnership ended.
According to India Today, most disputes of this nature are usually settled behind closed doors. However, sources claim Reddy refused to pay, insisting he had independently secured his endorsements—forcing the agency to seek court intervention.
The Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear the matter on Monday, July 28.
Meanwhile, Reddy’s injury absence compounds India’s selection woes ahead of the final England Tests. Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep are also sidelined, prompting selectors to bring in Anshul Kamboj and Sai Sudharsan as replacements.
