RAIA: Fatorda Veterans stormed into the semi-finals of 23rd All Goa Veterans Tournament but not before being made to sweat by a spirited Darshan Veterans in a thrilling 4-2 quarter-final match player at Seraulim ground.
The opening half was a tight affair, Milagres Fernandes missed a golden chance and Caracio Fernandes troubled the Fatorda defence, while keeper Manoj Kesarkar stood tall for Darshan.
The second half erupted with action as Mathew Pereira’s brilliant brace and Rosario Carvalho’s strike gave Fatorda a commanding lead.
Darshan refused to surrender, clawing back with goals from Johnson Coelho and Milagres Fernandes to set up a nail-biting finish. But Rosario’s late strike sealed his brace and Fatorda’s passage, ending Darshan’s brave fight in spectacular fashion.
