MAPUSA: Fatorda Veterans proved to be too good as they trounced Mandrem Veterans by 4-1 margin in the All Goa Siolim Veterans football tournament played at Siolim ground, on Sunday.
The match was witnessed by a large Sunday crowd where Fatorda’s Francis Andrade stole the limelight scoring a hat-trick, with Mathew Pereira accounting for the fourth goal with a superb header.
Alex Alvares managed to pull a goal through a well-executed direct 25-yard free-kick for Mandrem Veterans. Chief guest Pradeep Chodankar, former Laxmi Prasad SC player and Referee presented the Francis Andrade man-of-the-match award, while Anthony Fernandes, former Customs and Central Excise goalkeeper and media sports reporter presented cash prize to Francis Andrade being the first goal scorer of the match.
