VASCO: Geno FC thrashed Vasco SC 6-0 in a one-sided Goa Professional League match played at Tilak Maidan, here.
The match, played in front of a spirited afternoon crowd, saw Geno FC’s attackers run riot, with Abelson Jachi starring via a brace and four other players contributing to the goal fest. The visitors struck early as Franky Oliveiro opened the scoring in the 15th minute, capitalising on defensive errors.
Reniel D’Mello doubled the lead at the 29th-minute mark with a clinical finish.
Geno FC maintained relentless pressure, and Jachi converted a penalty in the 64th minute before adding another six minutes later, showcasing his precision.
Substitute Chaitan Komarpant (80’) and Suraj Gurung (85’) compounded Vasco SC’s misery with late strikes, sealing Geno FC’s dominance.
Vasco SC struggled to counter Geno FC’s fluid attacks, earning only a yellow card for Michael Silva.
Geno FC’s Mohammed Rafi and Velito Cruz also saw cautions, but their defensive discipline otherwise stifled the hosts.
