MAPUSA/PANJIM: BAFF managed to edge past FC Tuem by 3-2 margin in the Goa Football Association’s Division II League match played at Duler Stadium, here, on Sunday.
For BAFF colts, Saish Kavlekar and Sandesh Kaulekar scored, while for FC Tuem Elroy and Sergius Fernandes levelled terms, 2-2.
However, in the 70th minute, Sanket Pal scored the match winning goal for BAFF, 3-2.
At Guirim ground, Goan Warriors downed Bidesh XI 3-0.
All the goals came in the second session of play with Aditya Talwar netting a brace and Soham Sheticar adding his name to the scorer’s list.
In another match, Portais Sporting Club, Panjim, got the better of Aivao Youth Club, Dona Paula, registering a 3-0 victory in the Ilhas Zone match played at Taleigao ground.
The match was dominated by Portais SC, who scored the first goal soon after kick-off and later Vignesh Shirodkar completed his hat-trick before half time.
At the half time, Portais SC were leading 3-0.
For Portais SC, Krishna Shirodkar was outstanding in the goal, while Devesh Adkonkar, Babash Shirvoikar, Nitish Kunkalkar, Mukesh Kunkalkar played well in the defence. Vishal Adkonkar and Rohit Mardolkar and Aadarsh played well in the midfield.
While for Aivao Youth Club, Akshay Gauns, Mahadev Narvekar, Sunil Gauns and Shubham Lokhande played well in the midfield.
With this win, Portais SC are positioned second in the Ilhas Zone standings with 12 points from six matches, while Agacaim Youth Club are topping the zone with 18 points.
