With just over a week remaining for the Asia Cup 2025, the Indian and Pakistan cricket teams crossed paths for the first time at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Saturday. India conducted their second practice session since arriving in the UAE, with specialist batters spending over an hour in the nets. Pakistan, meanwhile, practiced ahead of their tri-series final against Afghanistan.
Reports noted that both teams stuck to their routines, and no interactions or pleasantries were exchanged between the players. The upcoming clash is under heightened scrutiny due to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives and was attributed to Pakistan-sponsored terrorists.
Former India spinner Amit Mishra emphasized that all decisions regarding playing Pakistan will be taken in the interest of the country, noting the emotional connection between players and their fans.
