The BCCI has confirmed that the IPL 2025 season will resume on May 17 after a week-long suspension triggered by rising cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. The disruption occurred when a match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was halted midway due to escalating hostilities, including military actions and airspace violations. The resumption follows a ceasefire agreement reached on May 10 through diplomatic intervention. After thorough consultations with the government, security agencies, and other stakeholders, the BCCI decided to restart the tournament, with the remainder of the matches set to take place across six venues, culminating in the final on June 3.
