Latif brace helps Dando Boys sink Carmona SC

Shiroda Youth win nine-goal thriller against St Sebastian YC; Sao Jose de Areal SC blank Uguem Rising Club 5-0; Assonora United defeat Goan Warriors FC 2-0

PANJIM: Dando Boys Club Benaulim edged past Carmona Sports Club 2-1 at the Goa Football Associations Third Division League match played at Dando ground, Benaulim, on Wednesday.
Consistent goal scorer Latif Shaikh netted a brace to give the home side full points while Aidan Martins scored a late consolation goal for the Carmona side.
Both the teams started the match on equal footing with either of the teams trying to net the first goal.
The Benaulim side played a decent game with Dalan and Dinimark in the flanks and Latif in the strike. The home side missed a couple of chances before Dalan sent in a ball to Latif who dodged a couple of defenders and swept the ball in the 34th minute to take the lead.
Post resumption, Latif scored yet another goal before the Benaulim fell back to defend their 2-goal lead.
The Carmona side tried their level best to get past the rival defence but failed time and again until Aidan made a swift move and scored the consolation goal before the match ended to make it 2-1
In another match at Raia ground, Shiroda Youth Club scored a narrow win over St Sebastain YC Fatorda 5-4.
In a keen tussle between both the sides Shiroda YC was the first team to find the breakthrough in the 15th minute through Joel Cruz however the Fatorda side soon netted the equaliser through Ryan Dias to keep themselves in contention.
Fatorda then shot into the lead through the boots of Semex Alemao before Shiroda YC levelled terms through Stanley Dias in the 30th minute.
Grewyn Dias and Christopher Boreg scored two quick goals to take the desired lead for the Fatorda side in the 32nd and 33rd minutes respectively.
Before the half-time St Sebastian Fatorda looked like the winning side however after the breather, trailing by two goals Shiroda bounced back and killed the match after they scored three goals with Steven Pereira narrowing the deficit in the 57th minute and Agostinho Cruz netting equaliser and the match winner in the 71st and 83rd minutes respectively.
At Curtorim ground, Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club blanked Uguem Rising Club 5-0 in a one-sided affair.
Lastan D'Costa scored a hat trick while Vishel Fernandes netted a brace for Sao Jose de Areal to complete rout of Uguem RC.
Elsewhere at Tembi ground Anjuna, Assonora United defeated Goan Warriors Football Club 2-0.
Pratik Naik and Atish gaonkar scored a goal each for the winners
