RAIA: The Mandovi Parivar kept its tradition of winning tennis ball cricket tournament by winning the prestigious Faskali Rainy Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament played at the Fasgali ground, Patnem, recently.
In the final, Mandovi Parivar defeated Palolem Warriors by 20 runs.
After winning the toss, the Palolem Warriors elected to field. The Mandovi Parivar scored 53 runs by losing five wickets in four overs. The main scorers were Mohinesh Naik (34) and Sachin Naik (10). In reply, the Palolem Warriors managed to score only 34 runs by losing eight wickets. Santosh and Vinesh took two wickets each, while Viraj took one wicket in four overs. The Mandovi Parivar won the rolling trophy and cash award of Rs 22,000, while Palolem Warriors begged the runners-up trophy and cash award of Rs 11,000.
The prizes were distributed by Shrutesh Desai, Dilip Komarpant and cricketer Babu Naik.
