RAIA: Margao Sports Club outplayed Carmona Sports Club 6-0 to enter into the quarter-finals of 17th St Anthony Festival Cup 2025 organised by St Anthony Sports Club, Assolda, at Moll ground, Assolda, on Monday.
The match started on a caution note as there was continuous rain and becomes difficult to control the ball but Margao SC took the lead in the 16th minute through Alfred Noronha’s header which crashed into the net. Then Carmona SC Kayne Cardozo’s power-packed shot punched away for corner by Margao SC goalkeeper Karol Soares.
At half time, the score remained 1-0. In the second session, Margao SC dominated the game and scored five goals. A hat-trick by Hanshlum Furtado in the 33rd, 35th and 46th minute of play, while Clencio Pinto and Sarineo Fernandes also added their names on score list.
