Pakistan have unveiled their 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE, handing the captaincy to Salman Ali Agha. He will also lead the side in the UAE Tri-Series against Afghanistan and the hosts ahead of the continental tournament.
In a major shake-up, star batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been dropped, signalling what appears to be the end of their T20I careers. Struggling pacer Naseem Shah has also been omitted. The changes come under the guidance of newly appointed white-ball head coach Mike Hesson.
The squad, however, still features several established names including Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali and Faheem Ashraf, while youngsters Saim Ayub, Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Haris have also been given opportunities.
