RAIA: Peidadegal secured a commanding 4-1 win over Batora United to book their place in the semi-finals of 2nd Caniza Peixoto memorial football tournament organised by Black Arrow Boys Agxem Sports Club at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Friday.
Batora United drew their first blood in the 6th minute when Granville Barretto slotted home a well-placed shot. Peidadegal responded strongly with James Fernandes narrowly missing the target in the 10th minute. However, he made no mistake in the 18th minute, scoring a fine glancing header to level the score at 1-1.
James continued his dazzling form, putting Peidadegal ahead 2-1 with a clinical finish in the 35th minute. He completed his hat-trick with a curling shot in the 46th minute, making it, 3-1. The scoreline was sealed in the 51st minute when Anthony Fernandes netted Peidadegal’s fourth goal.
