RAIA: To celebrate a decade of youth football development in India, the Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) football academy conducted a special football clinic in Margao, on Monday, for aspiring young players from across Goa.

The session was led by RFYC Head of Scouting Stephen Charles, with the participation of Goan RFYC alumnus Felixson Fernandes, who currently represents Bengaluru FC.

“As part of our academy's 10th anniversary celebrations, we're hosting a football clinic in Goa that doubles as a scouting platform for next year's intake,” said Stephen Charles. “Kids get to train with a professional like Felixson Fernandes, a Young Champs graduate, and learn from his experience on and off the pitch. Goa is a key talent hub for us—we scout across all age groups here for eight months a year. Notable graduates from the region include Nathan Rodrigues, Narendra Naik, and Felixson. I'm confident more Goan talent will soon represent ISL clubs and India.”

The clinic featured various upskilling and fun drills such as passing, attack-defence, 1-vs-1 and 2-vs-2 exercises, followed by a short game. Felixson also shared insights with the participants on playing football professionally and developing a deeper understanding of the game.
