PANJIM: Top seed Rishan Shaikh will face second seed Chandan Caro in the U-17 boys final, while the duo also advanced to the summit clash of the U-19 boys category in the YMCA Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament organised by the YMCA Panjim under the aegis of Goa Table Tennis Association, at the indoor stadium, Campal, here, on Thursday.
In the U-17 boys quarter-finals, Rishan outplayed Yug Prabhu (6) 3-0, Chinmay Bakhare overcame Surendra Chube 3-1, Dhruva Kamat (3) stopped Ruhaan Shaikh 3-0, and Chandan (2) blanked Dhruv Kanji 3-0.
The semi-finals saw Rishan secure a hard fought 3-1 win over Chinmay, while Chandan stormed past Dhruva 3-0 to set up a high-voltage final.
Meanwhile, in the U-19 boys quarters, Chandan (1) got the better of Surendra Chube 3-0, Ruhaan Shaikh (4) upset Dhruva Kamat (3) 3-1, Rishan advanced past Vedant Wagle via walkover, and Yug Prabhu outplayed Chinmay 3-0.
