MAPUSA: Roots Football Club, Karnataka came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Sesa FA in the IWL 2 encounter, played at Duler stadium, on Thursday.
Sesa FA took an early lead after Roots defender brought down Aniela Barretto inside the penalty area. Referee Ruba Devi awarded the spot kick, which was confidently converted by Pushpa Parab to make it 1-0.
In the second half, Roots FC regrouped and equalised in the 73rd minute when Achon Dejio scored from the penalty spot. Just three minutes later, Rosy Thanga netted what proved to be the winner, completing a quick turnaround and securing all three points for the Karnataka side.
This marked Sesa FA’s third defeat in the ongoing IWL 2 campaign.
