MARGAO: The excitement continued at the Next Gen League 2.0 organised by The King’s Sports Academy with venue partner The King’s School, with an action-packed day featuring matches in the U-8, U-10 and U-12 categories. The games highlighted the determination and talent of young footballers from schools across the State.

In the U-12 Diamond 7-a-side football (Round 1), Rosary High School, Navelim, secured a decisive victory against Fr Agnel Multipurpose High School, Nuvem. Ajaan Salmani (Navelim) impressed on the field and was named player-of-the-match for his impressive performance.

In the U-12 Sapphire 7-a-side football (Round 1) saw St Joseph High School, Margao, emerge victorious over St Francis Xavier’s High School, Macasana. Arafat Hander (Margao) earned player-of-the-match honours for his exceptional contributions to his team’s success.

In the U-8 Mixed 5-a-side futsal (Round 2), Our Lady of Carmel High School, Curtorim, outplayed Our Lady of Succour High School, Verna. Leyden Fernandes (Curtorim) was recognised as the player-of-the-match for his outstanding gameplay and skill.

The final match of the day featured the U-10 Sapphire 7-a-side football (Round 1), where Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim, clinched victory over Our Lady of Succour High School, Verna. Vennoy Costa (Navelim) stood out with a remarkable performance, earning him the player-of-the-match title.

The Next Gen League 2.0 continues to inspire young athletes, fostering their growth and love for the game through spirited competition.
