RAIA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, scored a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Betalbatim Sporting Club to move into the quarter-finals of Curtorim Villagers Cup 2025 organised by Curtorim Gymkhana at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
Betalbatim SC had their first chance when Joel D’Silva’s shot hit the post and went out of play. Betalbatim SC scored the first goal through Mohammad Sahil in 12 minute after dribbling past DBO Fatorda defender to make it 1-0.
Soon DBO Fatorda made an attempt to equalise through the efforts of Shubert Colaco but his shot was well saved by Betalbatim SC keeper Milton de Souza. In the second half, DBO Fatorda equalised in the 40th minute when Shubert Colaco was brought down by Betalbatim SC keeper inside penalty area. Rahul Sharma had no mistake to convert the goal to come on equal terms.
DBO Fatorda scored the second goal through Austin Barbosa in the 55th minute after receiving a pass from Cliff Barreto. Betalbatim SC were unlucky when Alison Rogtao’s free-kick hit the crossbar.
