RAIA: SC Davorlim edged Parish Youth Nuvem, 1-0, to book their quarter-final berth in the 44th Gold Silver Football Tournament, at Rosary Church ground, Navelim, on Wednesday.
Nuvem began strongly, with Nevil Mascarenhas threatening in the third minute and Francis Colaco going close in the seventh. Davorlim responded through Melchier Miranda, who shot narrowly wide in the 10th.
The deadlock was broken in the 40th minute when Sidroy Colaco’s header deflected off a Nuvem defender and trickled into the net, sealing the tie in Davorlim’s favour.
Albino Pereira of Parish Youth Nuvem was named man-of-the-match, the award presented by ZP member Edwin Cardozo.
