MAPUSA: St Savio’s SC, Calangute, managed to edge past FC Tuem by 2-1 margin to storm into the final of 3rd Rosary Cup Mandrem Soccer organised by Dunes Sports Club, Mandrem, at Mandrem village panchayat ground, Mandrem, on Wednesday.
For St Savio’s SC Pedro Gonsalves stole the limelight by scoring a goal in each session of play.
In the very 5th minute, Pedro scored from the penalty spot after Ritik Yadav of FC Tuem handled the ball inside the 18-yard box, 1-0. On crossing over, FC Tuem came back into the match when in the 52nd minute Sanchet Gawde equalised with a stiff grounder, 1-1.
In the 60th minute, Pedro scored their winning goal from a brilliant header of a free-kick 2-1.
