MAPUSA: Sudeva Delhi FC registered a fluent 3-1 win over Mohan Bagan Super Giant in the Reliance Foundation Development U-21 League - Group D match played, at Duler Stadium, here, on Saturday.
Sudeva Delhi FC’s skipper Prajal Tushir, Kamginsei Touthang and substitute Bhaaranyu Bansal scored for the winners, while Mohan Bagan skipper Md Fardin Ali Molla managed to pull a goal to reduce the margin.
Both teams played almost on equal footing in the first 30 minutes of the match. Finally, in the 36th minute, Sudeva Delhi opened their account with their skipper Prajal Tusher rising high above Mohan Bagan defenders and heading Kamginsei Touthang’s corner past the Mohan Bagan custodian.
Just three minutes into the second session, Sudeva Delhi FC further increased their lead through Kamginsei Touthang, who scored off Mohan Bagan’s custodian gloves, 2-0. Mohan Bagan should have pulled a goal but a stiff grounder by Md Fardin Ali Molla was saved by Sudeva Delhi FC’s goalkeeper Wahengbam Singh.
Sudeva Delhi FC’s netted their third goal in the 64th minute where a rasping 30-yard shot by Bhaaranyu Bansal dipped into the back of the nylons.
Never say die spirit finally saw Mohan Bagan pull a goal in the 64th minute through Md Fardin Ali Molla, 3-1.
In another match, Punjab FC secured a convincing 5-0 victory against Mumbai City FC.
