At the Playcom Business of Sports Summit 2025, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal spoke about Team India’s lead sponsorship and upcoming Asia Cup matches against Pakistan.
“The BCCI has initiated the process to find a new lead sponsor, and details will be out in 2-3 weeks,” Dhumal stated. Dream11 pulled out of the sponsorship deal after the government banned real-money gaming.
Regarding India-Pakistan matches, Dhumal emphasized, “We adhere to government policy and ACC/ICC event guidelines. Bilateral matches with Pakistan will not occur.” The government also introduced a simplified visa policy for athletes, team officials, and sports administrators for a maximum of five years.
The Asia Cup 2025, taking place from September 14–28 in Dubai, has sparked discussion following the April Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 tourists. India launched Operation Sindoor in May in response. The BCCI AGM on September 28 will also address elections for key posts including the president.
