MAPUSA: Tivim Karate Dojo produced a dominant display at the 4th IJKAI Goa State Karate Tournament, held at the Badminton Indoor Stadium, Peddem, clinching a remarkable 56 medals — 18 gold, 15 silver and 23 bronze.
Over 400 competitors from across Goa took part in the two-day championship, organised by Chief Instructor Sensei Mahendra Naik. The Tivim contingent, trained by Sensei Sandesh Santosh Kolikar (3rd Dan Black Belt), emerged as one of the standout teams of the event.
Among the top performers, Mahaj V Porob, Hitanshi Jayant, Adarsh Nair and Siddhant Reddy bagged two gold medals each, while several others shone with a mix of gold and podium finishes. Notable double medallists included Meryl Fernandes (gold, bronze), Aarushi Kerkar (gold, silver), Anushka Naik (gold, silver), Sharav Naik (gold, bronze), Shaurya Kambli (gold, bronze), Kabir Kapoor (gold, bronze), Parth Walavalkar (gold, bronze), Mihir Kolgaonkar (gold, bronze) and Swarit Ghanekar (gold, bronze).
Other gold medal winners were Pallavi Kalangutkar, Maheer Dodamani, Ehaan Kamat, Om Naik and Varad Korgaonkar, each underlining the depth of talent at the dojo.
Strong performances also came from Sanvee Jadhav, Simran Chowgule, Varadaa Shetye Korgaonkar, Manaswi Korgaonkar, Adriel Fernandes, Darshan Gundenhalli, Tanush Naik, Tanay Kavathankar, Nishant Malgi, Siddhant Reddy, Shan Kauthankar, Sergio Pereira and Suhaan Rivankar, who added crucial silver and bronze medals to the tally.
