VASCO SC’S SURAJ MONDAL

Herald Team
Over 30 years, heavy on built, doesn’t run much on the pitch –sounds lazy right? But Vasco’s Suraj Mondal was the stand out performer against Corps of Signals despite their 2-3 defeat.
Suraj has so far scored four goals and is standing third on top goal scorers list behind Churchill Brothers’ Willis Plaza and Dempo SC’s Joaquim Abranches who have scored five apiece.
Suraj brings in lot of experience in the side. He commands the play and is always there in right place at the right time. On Monday, he headed in two goals to give Vasco lead before they bottled up yet again.
Suraj started as defensive midfielder in the first half and later played as an attacking midfielder in the second session wherein we all know the result. He also created chances for his teammate but sadly –Sheldon missed two clear chances. Suraj doesn’t run much, doesn’t prefer through balls, but once the ball at the feet the stout attacking midfielder creates magic on the field for Vasco SC.
