Youngsters are spending hours and hours at these remote work havens. Reading ahead, in this piece, you will understand each of their Job roles and how the cafes and coffeehouses are helping them make work fun and be the best at it.
Ayush Soni,
startup Founder
Ayush is a 20-year-old technology startup founder. He develops B2B applications for e-commerce businesses, helping them streamline operations and automate tasks to drive growth. This young founder’s team works entirely remotely, and they are all against working from home and offices as it makes them lazy and unproductive to a huge extent. “For the last 4-5 years, I have been working from the cafes. I don’t do café hopping. If I find a good café to work from, I stick to that,” said Ayush. His priority when it comes to working from a café is comfortable seating and getting a proper parking space. Ayush added, “I like to spend time in crowded places. I find myself working at an excellent speed when I am surrounded by people. Good food and coffee also go without saying.” Every café has its own unique vibe, and experiencing that while getting work done is the best part.
Utkarsh Phooli,
Mergers and acquisitions expert
Utkarsh Phooli, who works on the Real Estate and Development team of a renowned hospitality group as a mergers and acquisitions expert, is an ardent fan of working from cafes. Being in this team, he is mostly on the road and is traveling in and out of India. Utkarsh said, “I am in Goa currently to visit a site, so when I am done with the site visit in Saligao, I immediately go to a café or a coffee shop primarily for, capturing my observations, formulating reports, attending meetings with owners as a follow up and to keep them posted on the site visits.” Being in a café, all kinds of noise becomes white noise, and it automatically forces you to concentrate on the work at hand. Utkarsh added, “When you are at an office, a colleague might just barge in and make you stop your train of thought or interrupt you. But in a café, it’s more like white noise; none of them will interrupt what I am doing.” He was eager to suggest work from microbreweries as well. He said, laughing, “I am not drinking at work, but breweries offer a calm and peaceful setting for one to work, as people are also less frequent there.”
Neha Bandodkar,
photographer
Neha Bandodkar is a passionate photographer. Her specialty is maternity, pre-wedding, and wedding photography. Over the last 7 years, she has been running her own photography venture and has around 3-4 people working with her. But she has not invested a single penny in creating an office for this venture. “I work solely from cafes; all my work is done from these coffee shops,” said Neha. She is delighted by the café work vibe and plans to continue with the same. “I use these cafes whenever I edit my photographs and attend calls. I would need my entire attention when I try to edit these pictures, and no better place than a café to do this,” she said.
Darsh Chauhan, an attorney
Darsh is a skilled attorney specializing in civil cases involving monetary disputes, business conflicts, and industrial resolution matters. His major responsibilities of client meetings, drafting issues and notices, and more are all effortlessly carried out from cafes. “I am a very social person, and I love working when I get to work with new people every day who also enjoy working from cafes.” It is relaxation and work happening together. However, Darsh also has his own priority facilities for him to pick a café as an ideal one for him to work from. “I choose a café based on how spacious and peaceful the café is, its seating arrangements, and the wifi connection,” said Darsh.
