One of the most dazzling nights in global fashion, the 2025 Met Gala has officially come to a close. Over 300 celebrities walked the red carpet in New York City, each pushing the boundaries of fashion. The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. First launched in 1948 by American fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert, the gala has grown in prestige and scale over the decades. This year, host Anna Wintour wore an archival piece by Virgil Abloh.
The best-dressed stars of the evening paid meticulous attention to both the theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the dress code, “Tailored for You.” The 2025 co-chairs—A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, and Lewis Hamilton—were joined by honorary chair LeBron James. The red carpet was a celebration of tailoring, with men donning blazers, tailored pants, shorts suits, formal tailcoats, and vests worn without jackets—suiting was the statement of the night.
Women embraced the theme with elegance, styling gowns alongside tailored elements—think a classic shirt paired with a voluminous ball gown, or a shimmering jacket worn with a dramatic skirt. It was a night that delivered one of the most stylish and memorable Met Gala red carpets in history.
Perennial Met Gala icon Rihanna stole the spotlight once again by revealing her third pregnancy with partner A$AP Rocky. The singer and beauty mogul wore a pinstriped Marc Jacobs ensemble that highlighted her baby bump, paired with a polka dot cravat and oversized hat. A$AP Rocky, one of this year’s co-chairs, walked the carpet in a custom look designed by his own creative agency, AWGE. His outfit featured a jacket inspired by Marmot outerwear, a nod to his Harlem
roots.
With British racing champion Lewis Hamilton serving as co-chair, the 2025 Met Gala was a true fusion of sport and fashion. The red carpet welcomed record-breakers and elite athletes from across the globe. Among the stars were the fastest woman in the world, Sha’Carri Richardson; Olympic gymnast Simone Biles; WNBA stars Angel Reese, Sabrina Ionescu, Jonquel Jones, and Breanna Stewart; and tennis legends Serena and Venus Williams.
