This Rose is more Scarlett than red
MTV Splitsvilla 7 has been on air for the past few weeks. The show that comprises of 13 episodes was shot for one month in Rajasthan. Former Miss Goa Scarlett Rose who has also featured in an international music video in the past, became the first Goan girl to be a part of this show

How did your being on the show come about?
MTV had called me for the show. The rest of the 19 girls on the show had to audition but I was the only one who was called directly. I had to send the producers of the show a video replying to questions like – ‘Why do you want to be in Splitsvilla?’, ‘What would you do if there was a situation where there are two girls trying for a guy and you need to do something?’ They also asked me ‘Why do you think you need to be on the show? And I gave them just one answer – no one from Goa has ever been on Splitsvilla. Since I’ve already been called, I think I should be here because it is time that Goa goes a level higher.
TC: What are the challenges that you faced while you were on the show?
SR: Personally, Splitsvilla 7 was not meant for me, because I like my personal space a lot. I love my privacy and I hate someone invading it.I missed my bed, sleeping in my own house, getting up when I want to, sleeping when I want to. There, we had a schedule that we had to strictly adhere to. We did not have access to mobile phones or internet for one whole month. I don’t like someone listening to what I’m talking or being watched – everything that I do from morning till night, people can see it on national television. That is one reason why I didn’t want to do the show but then it was like a task. I realized that if I don’t do it now, I’ll never get a chance to do this again. So I said lets go ahead and see what happens.
There have been rumours that reality shows like Splitsvilla are scripted. Is it true?
Before I went on the show, even I thought it was scripted but after going there, I realised that everything is real. From the time you get up in the morning till you sleep in the night, everything that we did and we said was recorded on camera. We had microphones fixed on us all the time.
What does thefuture hold for Scarlett Rose?
Now that I have already been on nationalTV speaking Hindi, I think I can get into Bollywood now. I have always said no to a lot of offers that I have got till date, but now since I know that language will not be such a problem, I have shed that inhibition. I can speak Hindi better, but maybe not as fluent as someone from Delhi or Mumbai.
