The trailer of Christ Silva’s new film was recently out and the 2-minute and 30 seconds are enough to draw you to watch the film. With different characters coming into play with their stories and how they all share this one connection is what will be revealed in the film. The film is produced by Sylvester Fernandes and the story, screenplay, dialogues and direction are by Christ Sunjo Silva. Patson Barbosa was the DOP and has done the editing of the film while sound design is by Velroy Fernandes.

Committed to maintaining the suspense, Christ has to be coaxed to reveal a bit about the film. “The story has a mystery element to it so I can’t give out too many details about the story. It’s a clever film and the audience will have to participate while viewing. The film also has spiritual angle to it,” says the 24-year-old director.

After ‘Limits’ and ‘Action’, this 155-minute film will be Christ’s third feature film. A mechanical engineer by profession, Christ completed his education at Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna, but his hobby of filmmaking turned into his passion and his focus is now entirely on making good and thought provoking films.

The cast of ‘Connection’ includes Prince Jacob, John D’Silva, Casiano Eddie D’Souza, Chitra Afonso, Anirudh Kakule, Benhur Silva, Benzer Fernandes, Siddharth Nagoji, Sobita Kudtarkar, Dencilla Dias with supporting cast of Mita Afonso, Damodar Dicholkar, Anay Kamat, Donald Colaco, Chetana Naik, Peter de Pedda, Simon Fernandes, Siddhesh Chavan and Akash Telgu. The music is by Joel Fernandes and Tyron Noronha and lyrics have been penned down by Benhur Silva and Christ Silva.

“The film has used non linear storytelling with flashbacks within flashbacks, stories from different key characters and all characters have a correlation with one another. I am looking forward to seeing how the audience will appreciate such storytelling. Prince Jacob plays the role of Fr Mark, one of the protagonists of the film and the movie is seen through his point of view. During the whole movie, the information that the audience receives is the same that Fr Mark receives. It is an entertaining film that will keep the audience guessing at every point,” adds Christ, the son of tiatr and film actor, John D’Silva.

Speaking about the casting of the film, he says, “When I was writing the character of Fr Mark, I could only picture Prince Jacob doing it; I am glad that he agreed to do the role as I am a huge fan of his work.”

Father and son, John and Christ also shared a fun connection while working together. As a young director, he gets to explain his scenes to John, who has to act it out for the film. “Just like other actors, he listens to everything I tell him and he doesn’t behave like he knows it all. There is a healthy discussion that takes places even on set. It also makes it easy for me as I don’t have to explain much because our ideas match most of the time. Most importantly, it is a dream for me to direct him,” concludes Christ.

Konkani feature film ‘Connection’ will be released on November 4, 2017 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao at 7:30pm. The screenings of the film will successively be held on November 13 and 17 at 3:30pm and on December 7 and 13 at 7:30pm at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao
